Abstract

This paper aims at analyzing the concept of Hereafter among the Islamic sects other than the Sunnis from the Mu’tazilah and the Murje’ah. In Islam, there is the concept of life after this worldly life, which is the Hereafter life. The Qur’anic verses and the Hadiths of the Prophet (peace be upon him) shed detailed light on the concept of Hereafter. In Islamic teachings, belief in the Hereafter is one of the most important pillars of the Islamic faith. For this reason, the authors have chosen the topic to be investigated in particular among the Islamic sects other than the Sunnis including the Mu’tazilah and the Murje’ah to highlight the difference of viewpoints between them. The first part of the study presents an introduction to the study. The second section discusses the concept of the Hereafter from the viewpoint of the Mu’tazilah. The third part explains the concept of the Hereafter from the viewpoint of the Murje’ah. The final section presents the conclusion of the study. This study uses analytical qualitative research methodology to discuss the concept of the Hereafter between the Mu’tazilah and the Murje’ah.
