Abstract

Allah Almighty sent the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) not only as a mercy for humanity but also as a guide and a perfect example (Uswa-e-Hasanah). As much has been written on the personality of the Prophet (PBUH), no other person in the world has even written a tenth of it. Apart from Muslim biographers, scholars of other religions have also written extensively on the personality of the Prophet of Islam. Apart from the Arab world, scholars and writers from Eastern and Western countries and regions also wrote biography of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) according to their own style. A big name in biography is that of the renowned biographer of the Indian subcontinent, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yasin Mazhar Siddiqui. Born in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Yasin Mazhar has a wide range of fields of scholarly and research interest. His books and articles are multilayered, including Quranic, Hadith, Fiqh, History, and Islamic Civilization. But as a biographer he has a unique status and place because of his individual style. In particular, he wrote about the aspects of the Prophet's biography that are commonly not discussed by biographers. In these aspects, the system of government of the Prophet's era, the livelihood of the Prophet, and the culture of the Prophet's era are of fundamental importance. His research work on topics related to the administration of the covenant of the Prophet can certainly be a guide for the Muslim Ummah in modern times. In this Article, Dr. Yaseen Mazhar's research efforts on the administrative affairs of the state of Madinah will be reviewed in a contemporary context. While discussing his method of research, the steps that can be taken to establish a welfare state like Madinah will be pointed out. Adopting an analytical method of research, this study will seek answers to these questions, which of the state's affairs were carried out on a priority basis in the time of the Prophet? What is the responsibility of a state in the present context and what strategy should be formulated for it? At the same time, suggestions and recommendations will be formulated based on the point made by Dr. Yaseen Mazhar regarding the administrative affairs of the Prophet's era which will provide guidance for the better conduct of modern state, governmental and administrative affairs.
