Abstract

The term “jurisprudence of priorities” in its contemporary meaning was not used by the ancestors, although it was described in different forms and expressions such as (الأولى) “Preferred”, (أجدر) “more worthy” and (أنفع) “most beneficial” etc. Usage of the said term has become more prominent in the literature of scholars and preachers in contemporary times, they use different words like priorities and the jurisprudence of actual situation. The main purpose of jurisprudence is to understand the message of Islam, its goals and objectives, way of its communication and dissemination in the best means and methods. Moreover, the way of defending the message of Islam with the most successful means and legitimate methods is also part of Jurisprudence's purpose.

Carrying out the duty of calling the people to Allah (SWT) is a difficult matter that needs capabilities, expertise and a thorough understanding of jurisprudence based on knowledge and piety. The success of the preacher depends on his accurate understanding, As it is obvious that if a person who doesn’t have exact information about the narrative he is going to preach & propagate, will be confused and his effort will not be at par with the set objectives. So it is necessary for a preacher or Da’wah worker that he must be clear in understanding the religion and its rulings so that he may be able to call people towards the religion confidently.

In this paper, the author has tried to discuss the concept of the jurisprudence of priorities and its roots with historical evidence from the biography (Seerah) of the prophets in general and the biography (Seerah) of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in particular. Moreover, implementation methods for the said approach in the field of Dawah in general and Dawah among university students, in particular, have been also discussed in the paper.
