Abstract

This paper presents a critical examination of the constructive use of social media in education and moral development, contextualized within the ethical framework of the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). As digital technologies increasingly shape societal behaviours and cultural discourse, social media has emerged as both a tool of empowerment and a source of ethical disruption. The study analyses how Prophetic principles such as truthfulness, wisdom in communication, communal guidance, and moral restraint offer a comprehensive model for ethical digital engagement. Central to this investigation is the dual responsibility of the state: first, to regulate digital environments to protect society from misinformation, moral decay, and ideological manipulation; and second, to promote value-based, educational content that reinforces Islamic ethics and civic responsibility. The research argues that state governance must integrate Islamic moral philosophy into media policy, educational curricula, and digital literacy initiatives. Through an interdisciplinary lens, the paper proposes a framework for responsible media strategy that aligns technological advancement with spiritual integrity and educational excellence, thereby positioning the state as a key actor in shaping ethically sound digital societies.
