Sheikh Siddique Hassan Khan Al-Qanouji and his methodology of illustrating the issues of creed in his Commentary “Fath al-Bayān Fī Maqāsid al-Qur'ān”

An Analytical study

Abstract

This research deals with the approach of Shaikh al-Qanouji (may Allah have mercy upon him) in describing the issues of creed (aqidah) in his interpretation. The Shaikh chose the method of Salaf regarding the creed, especially in the verses of attributes of Allah, i.e he believes in them without distorting or disobeying. As for the attributes of Allah in which the scientists differ, such as: the type of hand, the type of establishing Himself above the throne, and the attribute of His eyes and so on. I will gradually illustrate in this research firstly, the position of the Sheikh on the attributes of Allah, secondly, his position on the innocence of the Prophets, thirdly, his position on the blowing out of the fire of Hell, with evidences which the sheikh mentioned in his interpretation.
