Medical Issues in Tafheem-ul-Masayil: A Review of Jurisprudential Methodology and Comparative Analysis of Contemporary Fatwas

Abstract

Islam offers holistic guidance for all aspects of life, including healthcare and medical ethics. In recent times, advances in medicine—such as organ transplantation, cosmetic surgery, and artificial reproduction—have raised new questions regarding their compatibility with Islamic principles. The primary aim of this research is to evaluate contemporary fatwas on medical issues, focusing on how Islamic jurisprudence balances religious rulings with modern healthcare needs. The study explores the principles of Darurah (necessity) and raf‘al-haraj (removal of hardship) to provide practical solutions for patients while ensuring compliance with Islamic law.
