Islam is a comprehensive code that governs all aspects of life, including the economy. Hoarding is one of the economic evils that Islam forbids in order to maintain social equilibrium. However, new kinds of hoarding are emerging in various sectors, such as the sugar, flour, and petrol mafia in Pakistan as well as new forms of monopoly are increasing in the real estate industry. It is vital to investigate these cases according to Shariah.
The primary objective of this article is to find out Shariah Ruling about prevailing forms of hoarding and monopoly in the several markets in the light of Quran, Sunnah and Islamic Jurisprudence. By analyzing contemporary scholarly interpretations and law of land in Pakistan.
