Iqamat Deen proposed, Maulana Maududi, Ahmad Ghamdi, A Comparative StudyAbstract
Iqamah-e-deen is the name for implementing Shariah commands in every aspect of life, both individually and socially. Undoubtedly, Islam is a religion of practice. For this great purpose, the Last Holy Prophet strove for twenty-three years, and at last he established a strong state for the Muslim community in Madinah.
With the passage of time, the ideology of Iqamah-e-Deen began disappearing from Muslim scholarship because of what they faced with dictatorship and the kingdom system. When Maulana Maududi came in the 20th century, he renewed this ideology and urged Muslims to establish Deen. So, there were some scholars who opposed this and interpreted the ideology of Iqamah-e-Deen according to their understandings. One of those scholars is Javed Ahmad Ghamdi, who opposed it. In this article, we will compare the opinions of both scholars and their analysis in light of the Quran and Sunnah.
